NFL Is Back: The Jersey Guide to Opening Week
Four months after Seattle lifted the Lombardi Trophy, the NFL is back tonight — and opening week is spread over four days, three countries and two streaming services. Here is every game that matters, and the jersey to wear for it.
The four you cannot miss
| Game | When (ET) | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Patriots at Seahawks | Wed 8:20 PM, NBC | Banner night. Seattle raise the Super Bowl flag, then face the team they beat 29–13 in February to win it |
| 49ers vs Rams | Thu 8:35 PM, Netflix | The first regular-season NFL game ever played in Australia — Melbourne Cricket Ground, Friday morning local |
| Cowboys at Giants | Sun 8:20 PM, NBC | Sunday night, NFC East. The oldest grudge in the division opens the Sunday slate |
| Broncos at Chiefs | Mon 8:15 PM, ESPN/ABC | Monday night, AFC West, and the first look at Kansas City’s season |
Twelve more games fill the Sunday windows between those four. By Tuesday morning every team will have played, every rookie class will have a first impression, and every fan base will be either planning the parade or demanding a trade. Football is the best sport in the world at week one.
